Lipid Journal Club

The Minnesota ACC invites you to attend our inaugural Lipid Journal Club, taking
place on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 from 5:30-8pm at Columbia Golf Course Manor located at 3300 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418.

This meeting will place special emphasis on initiating non-statin medications. The presentation will include research supporting use, case studies, and logistics involved in ordering non-statin medications for hyperlipidemia. We invite all physicians and cardiovascular team members including nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and pharmacists.

Lead Presenter: 

Laura Ross PA-C is the director of the Heart Disease Prevention and Lipid Clinic at the Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center. She is an elected member of the ACC Prevention Leadership Council, and serves as a cardiovascular team member representative on the ACCMN board. As a certified Clinical Lipid Specialist and diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine she was thrilled to start the plant forward “HeartBeet Clinic” that focuses on the pillars of lifestyle medicine to improve CV risk. When more then medications and lifestyle are needed, she is happy to offer patients participation in several lipid trials as a primary and sub-investigator. She is the current President of the Academy of PAs in Cardiology, and enjoys connecting with others who agree that the best clinicians not only treat heart disease but prevent it.
